| Wilfred
Chevis is a true-blooded zydeco accordion player. Chevis
comes from the heart of southern Louisiana where zydeco was
born. He was born in Church Point, Louisiana which is about
13 miles outside of Lafayette. It was here at the age of 12
that Chevis first began to play the button accordion. |
| Chevis
has many accomplishments to his credit. One of which being
a smash #1 hit 'Mona Lisa, Keep On Dreaming'. This
song was from his first album 'Foot Stomping Zydeco'. |
| Chevis
is also a disc jockey on Houston's KPFT 90.1 FM. His radio
show, Zydeco Dawn, has been on the air for 8 years.
Every Saturday morning, he brings Houston the hottest sounds
in zydeco music. |
| Chevis'
third and latest album, which has been recently released,
is on the Collectables Label. It is entitled 'Makin It
Back To Louisiana'. This album contains some of his best
work yet. It's snazzy, upbeat tempo brings out a true feeling
of down home Louisiana zydeco. It is sure to be a hit. Chevis
has big plans for this album release as well as for the future. |
